This weekend sees not one, but two gigs involving Little Ice Age. Now, this would be exciting enough under normal circumstances, but since they played their last ever show a few weeks ago it makes it even more exciting. Is it too soon to call this a reunion? I think that it was the last ever show with a full band, and these will be acoustic shows. Anyway, see them while you can!
The show on Saturday is of particular interest since they are playing as part of a big lineup of quality local bands. The occasion is the end of an era at the Prince Albert as they are changing hands. The P.A. has been a big, big supporter of local music. Not just putting on loads of gigs, but often when I’ve been in there on other nights they are playing great Adelaide music on the stereo. Should be a very big night.
Still haven’t decided whether I’ll go to Parklife on Sunday, but I’m leaning towards going just to see M.I.A who was great at the BDO last year. Hopefully Botanic Park is a bit less dusty than it was for Womad.
Also, don’t forget that you can hear me on Radio Adelaide every Tuesday between about 5:15 and 5:30. Either tune in to 101.5 FM if you’re in Adelaide, or listen to the streaming audio on their website from anywhere.
