Tonight No Through Road, who have been in fantastic form, support The Mess Hall’s cd launch at Jive. I don’t know anything about the headliners but am considering going just for NTR.
Ninja Tune fans have a couple of shows to get excited about. Firstly Japan’s DJ Kentaro, who did a Ninja Tune-only mix for the Solid Steel series is playing at the Crown & Sceptre on the 8th of November. Secondly Luke Vibert, who has had a number of tracks under his own name on various Ninja Tune releases (including the absolute classic Get Your Head Down) as well as a number of albums as Wagon Christ, will team up with Zero dB, who put out the excellent album Bongos, Bleeps and Basslines on Ninja Tune, again at the Crown Sceptre (which is the Adelaide home of Ninja Tune, having previously hosted Kid Koala and Amon Tobin).
Early next year we’ll have something for the Warp label fans as well, with Andrew Weatherall, of the Sabres of Paradise and Two Lone Swordsmen at Rocket.
Don’t wait that long to go to Rocket though, because on Nov 16 you can see the cd launch by Birth Glow, a trio with members of No Through Road, Jemima Jemima and Sweet Raxxx. I’ve only seen them once but have been very keen to see them again. Supporting are Hit the Jackpot and Skeletons, should be a good one!
Bill Callahan fans should take note that his gig at the Jade has been moved to the 11th of November, and he will be supported by The Sea Thieves, who’ve been playing some fantastic shows lately. This is also good news because it means that it no longer clashes with Via Tania.
Finally Ned Collette is set to return to Adelaide twice in the next couple of months. First for a solo show at the Jade on Nov 3, and then with full band on December 9. Make sure you get to at least one, he is well worth seeing.

Actually, after listening to the Nico cd once I’ve now lost it amongst all my boxes of stuff after moving house.
I forgot about Bachelorette, might be able to go to that.
Have you heard the Laneway Festival is coming to Adelaide in ’08? Line-up will include Feist and Via Tania.

Actually I don’t think Via Tania is listed for Adelaide. I’m more interested in an announcement to be made at

tomorrow.
