[gigs] Benga & Skream

Yet another festival! Dubstep producers Benga & Skream will join Public Enemy plus a bunch of other acts at the Summer Break Festival at Bonython Park on December 28. Benga was the first dubstep DJ I saw live when he played at Rhino Room, and it’s still probably the best dubstep show I’ve been to. The first dubstep cd I got was by Skream, so it’s great to have a chance to see both of them in Adelaide.

Actually, I think that (what’s still) this year’s Sydney Festival had the best line-up of any Australian festival so far, but if a few things rumoured and un-rumoured come true (e.g. Grizzly Bear) then with help from ATP @ SydFest, the 2009 festival will beat it 😉

That’s because M. Gira is the one gigantic draw-card for me for ATP. Other than that, although I know that Laughing Clowns reunion is awesome an’ all, it’s still not that majorly, intensely incredible.

Oh, by the way, speaking of Laughing Clowns, I should let you know that Stephen Creswell from Glebe Markets has setup shop on Glebe Pt Rd for a while, in the shopfront that Recycled Records occupied. He’s calling it “Everything That Flies” 🙂 He’s there Weds to Fri, and it’s open Saturday (but he’ll still be at the markets). Hopefully it’s there for a while, and next time you come up to Sydney you can visit!
