Sorry for the lack of updates, there’s been so much going on (I’ve managed something like 17 gigs in 17 days recently, and have another 6 or so before next week).
I just heard that there’s some sort of noise thing happening at Format (on Peel St) tonight, starts at 6. Later tonight hip-hop MC Busdriver is playing at Arcade Lane. He’s from LA & has worked with the excellent Daedelus in the past. He also plays Rocket on Friday.
Also on Friday is Robert Forster which is apparently sold out. On Saturday is Dinosaur Jr, and also Naked on the Vague at the Metro. On Sunday night there’ll be the big format festival closing night.
I have a feeling that there is also something on tomorrow but there’s so much that I’m having trouble keeping track! If anyone knows of anything good on Thursday 11th then let me know.
Also the Jandek tour has been confirmed! He plays at the Gov on March 28. He will be backed by David Keenan and Heather Leigh Murray, and supporting is Primitive Calculators. This is amazing, go to it. I’m sick of great bands coming to Adelaide and no-one turning up (e.g. the absolutely brilliant Curse ov Dialect last weekend).
Unfortunately upcoming tours by two of the greatest NZ bands, The Bats and The Chills, will both miss Adelaide.
